Yogibear Cartoons is an American animated television series that aired on Hanna-Barbera’s prime-time programming block on CBS from October 1961 to September 1962. The show was created by Hanna-Barbera Productions and was about Yogi Bear and his sidekick Boo Boo Bear living in Jellystone Park. Yogi Bear was voiced by Daws Butler, while Boo Boo Bear was voiced by Don Messick. Yogi Bear became one of Hanna-Barbera’s most popular characters and spawned a Yogi Bear comic book series from Dell Comics. In 2013, Yogi Bear was ranked #60 on TV Guide’s list of the 60 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time.
Yogi Bear first appeared in 1958 as a supporting character in The Huckleberry Hound Show. He quickly became a breakout character, and YogiBear Cartoons debuted as a standalone series in 1961. The show only lasted for one season, but Yogi Bear would continue to make appearances in other Hanna-Barbera shows like The Flinstones and Yogi’s Gang. Yogi Bear also starred in his own theatrical film in 1967, titled Hey There, It’s Yogi Bear!
