Torterra is a dual-type Grass/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. Torterra is also known as the ‘Continent Pokémon’. Torterra is a large, green turtle Pokémon. Torterra is said to be as big as continents and lived for over 100 years.

Torterra has a brown shell with small bumps on it. Torterra has a tree growing on its back. Torterra’s arms and legs are thicker and longer than most other Pokémon. Torterra lives in wooded areas.

Torterra is the final evolution of Turtwig. Torterra is the tallest Grass-type Pokémon. Torterra is also the heaviest Grass-type Pokémon.

Torterra is one of the few Pokémon that can learn earthquakes. Torterra can learn Stone Edge, which no other Grass-type Pokémon can learn. Torterra can use the move Wood Hammer, which damages itself when used.

Torterra can have one of two abilities: Overgrow, which increases the power of Grass-type moves; or Shell Armor, which prevents moves from critically hitting Torterra. Torterra is weak to Flying, Fire, Ice, Psychic, and Bug-type moves. Torterra is immune to Electric-type moves.

Torterra’s strongest moves are Stone Edge and Earthquake. Torterra is hunted by Humans for their meat and shells. Torterra is one of the first Pokémon players will encounter in Sinnoh region games, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum Versions.

In these games, Professor Rowan gives the player their choice of either Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup as their starter Pokémon when starting their journey through Sinnoh region.
