Torchic is a Fire-type Pokemon introduced in Generation III. Torchic, the Chick pokemon, is number 304 in Dex and was first seen in Ruby/Sapphire. It is one of the starters of Hoenn.
Torchic is a small, chick Pokemon with orange plumage and red scales. It has black stripes down its back and a long tail that ends in a blaze. It has a beak and big, blue eyes.
Torchic bears resemblances to other chicks Pokemon, such as Yanma, Pichu, and Torchic’s evolution Blaziken. Torchic is born with a sac of fire on its belly called “the flame sac”. This Flame sac gradually dries out as the Torchic matures.
Torchic can bat the flames on its stomach to make them grow larger. These flames are used for both combat and warmth. The temperature of Torchic’s flames can reach up to 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit.
Torchic evolves into Combusken starting at level 16, which then evolves into Blaziken starting at level 36. Torchic has tutored the move Baton Pass in generation III by Wisel from Fortree City. Baton Pass allows the user to switch out with another pokemon while retaining stat changes and other effects that would normally be lost upon switching out, such as item effects and entry hazards.
