Spheal is a small, bluish-white Pokémon that resembles a seal. Its body is mostly spherical, and it has two small arms with two black claws each. Spheal has a large, dark blue nose and big black eyes.
Its stomach and back are darker than its face and belly. Three spherical bumps sit on Spheal’s back, and it has a long tail. Because Spheal cannot walk on its hind legs well, it often rolls around instead.
If Spheal becomes frustrated, it will rub its belly vigorously. Spheal eats Shellos to relieve hunger pangs. If its hunger isn’t relieved, Spheal will begin to hug things out of frustration.
When Spheal grows tired, it rests by lying on its back and sleeping. This position also allows Spheal to float in water. When the snow falls, many Spheal gather around taller Pokémon to nap under their bellies to keep warm.
Spheal is known to be very friendly and playful. It feeds on algae and plankton. Spheal is also one of the few Pokemon that can learn the rare and powerful technique of Ice Beam.
Spheal evolves into Sealeo at level 32, and then into Walrein at level 44.
