Here are some fun facts about Shinx that Trainers may not know!
Shinx is a small, quadruped, feline Pokémon. It has black fur with blue stripes along its back and hind legs. Shinx has large yellow eyes and a small black nose.
Its limbs are somewhat thin and lack padding, likely to aid in its speed. Shinx’s forehead has a pentagon-shaped red gem. This gem stores electricity, which it uses to shock opponents or power up its partner’s moves.
Shinx can also release this electricity as a bright flash to blind enemies. It is mainly active at night, using its bright blue tail to communicate with others of its kind. Shinx breeds primarily in urban areas.
When alarmed, it lightens its body by discharging the electricity stored in its fur. Shinx is pronounced as “shinks”. The name may derive from “sheen” or “shine”.
Alternatively, it may be a play on the word “Sphinx”. Shinx is also the name for a person who is new or inexperienced in a certain activity. Shinx was designed by Atsuko Nishida.
It was one of the first Pokémon created for Generation IV, debuting in early artwork for the games alongside Luxray and Bronzor. Shinx evolves into Luxio at level 15 and then into Luxray at level 30.
