Here are some fun facts about Sceptile that Trainers may not know!

Sceptile is a dual-type Grass/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation III. Sceptile is the final evolution of Grovyle and is also known as the ‘Forest Pokémon’. Sceptile has an incredibly diverse moveset, being able to run Swords Dance, boosted by STAB Leaf blade, partnered with Hidden Power [Fire] for Stealth Rock setters such as Forretress and Ferrothorn.

Sceptile can also use Substitute + Leech Seed / Giga Drain to stall out opponents or set up on many fearsome foes such as Tyranitar and Excadrill. Sceptile is deadly in rain thanks to its former signature move, Hurricane. Sceptile’s excellent speed tier of 110 allows it to outspeed unboosted base 100s such as Jolteon and Keldeo.

When not holding a Focus Sash, a standard Sceptile should run an Adamant Nature with 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe so it can outpace other Choice Scarf users such as Latios and Mamoswine while having the power to break through most foes. Sceptile makes a great check to many bulky Water-types in the UU metagame thanks to its ability to Overgrow.
