Sandslash has a dual-type Ice/Steel regional form. It evolves from Alolan Sandshrew when exposed to an Ice Stone. Sandslash is a short, bipedal Pokémon with thorny, golden-brown fur covering its entire body. It has small, blue eyes and a triangular black nose.
On its back are two large spines that are also covered in golden fur. Sandslash can curl up into a tight ball to protect itself from enemy attacks and roll across the ground at high speeds to attack opponents. Sandslash’s fur grows thicker in desert climates and provides protection against the sun and sand.
Sandslash is found in hot deserts. Sandslash burrows underground to find shelter from the heat of the day. Sandslash is a very territorial Pokémon and will attack anyone that enters its territory. The anime has shown that Sandslash can be trained to be ridden on in desert areas.
Sandslash is capable of swimming and is an excellent digger, using its claws to dig through sand and soil quickly. Sandslash can use its claws to climb walls and ceilings. Sandslash can have the ability Keen Eye or the ability Sand Veil.
Sandslash’s Sandy Cloak helps it avoid damage from Sandstorm weather conditions. Sandslash cannot breed with any Pokémon except for Dugtrio. Sandslash is in the Egg Groups Field and Monster, and its Egg takes approximately 5,120 Steps to hatch.
