Regirock is a Rock-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. Regirock is a large, gray golem-like Pokémon with a red jewel on its forehead. Regirock was created when a scientist tried to clone Regice.
Regirock may be based on the Golems of Jewish folklore. Regirock’s numbers in the National Pokédex and Fiore Browser are the same: 200. Regirock shares this trait with Regice and Registeel.
In Hebrew, רגיל (regil) means “ordinary”. Regi is a shortened form of the registrar. Rock may refer to either its typing or the fact that it is made of stone.
Regirock has the highest base Defense stat and base HP stats of all Rock-type Pokémon. Regirock also has the third-highest Special Defense stat of all Rock-type Pokémon, behind only Carbink and Mawile.
However, Regirock’s low base Special Attack stat is tied with Sudowoodo for the lowest of all Rock-type Pokémon. Regirock’s low base Speed stat of 15 ties it with Geodude, Graveler, Golem, Sudowoodo, and several other Rock-type pokemon.
