Rayquaza is a Dragon, Flying-type Legendary Pokémon from the Hoenn region. It does not evolve into or from any other Pokémon. Along with Kyogre and Groudon, it is a member of the Weather Trio.
Rayquaza is a large, dragon-like Pokémon that is primarily green with red scales along its belly and white spots. The name Rayquaza may be a combination of ray (a type of fish) and quasar (a very bright object in space). Rayquaza is known as the Sky High Pokémon.
It has large, gold eyes, red spikes down its back, and two long dorsal fins. It also has small wings on its back. Rayquaza Mega Rayquaza is much larger, and its body becomes bulkier and more muscular. The green scales on its body become brighter, and the red scales turn blue.
The white spots turn yellow, and it gains a green “hood” around its neck. Rayquaza can live for centuries in the ozone layer without eating, surviving on air alone. Rayquaza is the only Pokémon that can learn the move Dragon Ascent.
