Primeape is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It evolves from Mankey starting at level 28. Primeape is a small, bipedal ape with reddish-brown fur. It has a short snout with wide nostrils and three thin wrinkles running from its forehead to the back of its head.

Primeape has small eyes, blue irises, and no visible pupils. On the back of each hand are three brown fingers, and its feet have two toes each. Primeape has long, thin arms with a single golden wristband on each.

Primeape is always enraged, even if it was just born yesterday. Primeape will give chase after anything that angers it, no matter how far or how long it takes; Primeape will also not stop Chasing an opponent until it captures or defeats them.

If caught, Primeape will be nursed back to health by its Trainer; however, if shown any kindness while it is still weak, Primeape will repay the favor tenfold later on. When angered, Primeape foams at the mouth and beats its chest with its fists out of sheer ferocity.

Primeape is also one of the few Pokémon that can learn the move Submission. Primeape’s fur is said to be infused with anger, and Primeape will only calm down when it has vented its rage by destroying something.

Primeape is also known to throw temper tantrums, during which it will run wildly and destroy anything in its path. As such, Primeape is best left to experienced Trainers.
