President’s Day is a great holiday that honors our nation’s past presidents! President’s Day falls on the third Monday of February, and it’s officially known as Washington’s Birthday. President’s Day first became a federal holiday in 1885 under President Grover Cleveland to celebrate President George Washington. President Abraham Lincoln also has a day to honor him, which is celebrated on February 12th each year. President’s Day serves as an opportunity to remember the important contributions that our past presidents have made to make our country what it is today.
