FUN FACTS THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW!
Presidential Seals are an interesting piece of Presidential history. You might have seen them on official documents, or used in Presidential inauguration ceremonies. Did you know the Presidential Seal has changed multiple times over the years? During the first Presidential administration in 1789, George Washington had a Presidential coat of arms made which included a bald eagle with stars and stripes. Eventually, the current design began to take shape in 1945 when President Truman created the Presidential Seal as we know it today. It includes an eagle guarded by a shield and clutches arrows and olive branches representing strength and peace respectively. Even though this national symbol has changed shapes numerous times throughout history, one thing remains constant – it serves as a constant reminder of our nation’s political prowess.
