Remembrance Day in Canada is always celebrated on November 11th, while Remembrance Day in the United States occurs on November 11th or the closest weekday to it. Also, wearing a poppy as a sign of Remembrance dates back to 1921 when the American Legion organized “Poppy Day” in the USA; it wasn’t until 1927 that poppies started appearing throughout Canada as part of Remembrance activities. All these facts and more contribute to our knowledge and appreciation of Remembrance.
