Here are some fun facts about Mantyke that Trainers may not know!
Mantyke is a dual-type Water/Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is the pre-evolved form of Mantine, Mantyke’s body is mostly blue with a white underbelly. It has two small wings on its back, and a crest on its head.
Mantyke’s most distinguishing feature is the long antennae sprouting from the top of its head, which are used to locate schools of Remoraid. Mantyke also has small fins on the sides of its head. Mantyke appears to be based on a manta ray.
It may also draw inspiration from mythical sea serpents or dragons, due to its long antennas. Mantyke always swims with a Remoraid attached to its belly button. If there is more than one Remoraid following it, they will take turns being attached.
If Mantyke becomes separated from the Remoraid it is swimming with, it will become sad and stop eating until it finds another one to bond with. Mantyke helps support and protect Remoraid while they fire their missiles.
