A lot of risky situations are ones that Lupin the Third willingly puts himself in. He seems unafraid of very little, thanks to thorough planning. Octopi, though, is an exception. Lupin’s aversion to octopuses has a lengthy history in the character’s history, albeit it isn’t commonly mentioned and there isn’t a good reason for it. He originally expressed his dread in the second episode of Lupin the Third, and it has since been mentioned a few times. Strangely, he appears to be unaffected by squid.
