Lanturn is a dual-type Electric/Water Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It evolves from Chinchou starting at level 27. Lanturn is a blue, spherical Pokémon with a black spot on its back.
Lanturn’s lower body is darker than its upper body and has several white spots. Lanturn has long, blade-like pectoral fins and a smooth dorsal fin. Lanturn’s eyes are yellow with small black pupils and no visible sclera.
Lanturn has two black stripes on each side of its neck and a tentacle-like Whisker protruding from each cheek. Lanturn also has two thin, black lines running down its back. Lanturn’s most notable feature is its large tail fin, which it uses to generate light in the darkness.
Lanturn is capable of generating ultra-bright beams of light. Lanturn can emit light approximately three times brighter than that of the full Moon. Lanturn can use this light to attract prey from up to five kilometers away before devouring them with its large mouth.
Lanturn’s gender ratio is reversed from that of most Pokémon; Lanturn is 77.5% female and 22.5% male while most Pokémon have greater gender ratio variance with the majority being male.
