Krabby (Japanese: クラブ Crab) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Krabby are red crab-like Pokémon. Krabby lives in both fresh and salt water. It is often said that Krabby has the most powerful pincers of any Pokémon. Krabby can open and close its large pincers very quickly.

Krabby’s pincers are so powerful, that they can crush a boulder into pieces! Sometimes, Krabby may lose a claw during battle or have a damaged claw forcibly removed. However, the claw regenerates over a short period. Krabby also has a hard shell. Krabby’s hard shell protects it from attacks.

In the past, Crabhammer was its signature move. Krabby is a very active Pokémon. It is always looking for food. Krabby can sense vibrations in the water. Krabby uses its pincers to catch prey. Krabby is also known to fight with other Pokémon over territory. Krabby has been shown to be very territorial.

Krabby is also known to eat trash. However, Krabby is not always successful in catching its prey. When Krabby fails to catch its prey, it gets angry and will sometimes throw a tantrum. Ash caught a Krabby in Mystery at the Lighthouse.

It was transferred to Professor Oak’s lab, and he didn’t use it until Round One – Begin!. After defeating an Exeggutor in its first battle, Krabby evolved into Kingler.
