Have you heard of Haikyuu!! was created by Haruichi Furudate and written and illustrated by him. On March 7, 1983, in Japan’s Iwate Prefecture, Furudate was born. Furudate was a middle blocker during his volleyball career in junior high school. Furudate was inspired by art and volleyball to create the anime series Haikyuu!! and the Shoyo character. Although the gender of Furudate is unknown, it is generally accepted that she is the storyteller. Volleyballers Shigeru Aoyama and Yuta Yoneyama are Furudate’s favorites. One Piece by Eiichiro Oda and Tekkonkinkreet by Taiyo Matsumoto are two of his or her favorite series. Haruichi Furudate is still an illustrator and writer for Shueisha, Inc.
