Grotle is a dual-type Grass/Ground Pokémon. Grotle evolves from Turtwig starting at level 18 and evolves into Torterra starting at level 32. Grotle is a small, quadrupedal turtle-like Pokémon that is primarily green with a brown shell.
Grotle has small, triangular eyes and a large mouth with two visible fangs. On Grotle’s back are a large shell covered in moss and three brown bumps. The bumps on Grotle’s shell grow larger as it evolves.
Grotle also has four stumpy legs ending in brown pads. There are also small tufts of grass growing out of the crevices on Grotle’s shell. Grotle is very calm and collected, but it can still become agitated if its environment is threatened.
Grotle spends most of its time atop massive trees in forests, using its strong roots to remain anchored while it feeds on the leaves. Grotle is also capable of surviving on little to no sunlight, thanks to the moss that grows on its back. If a Grotle loses its moss for some reason, it will become unable to eat and will starve to death.
Grotle is an important part of many ecosystem stability by helping protect soils from erosion due to heavy rains.
