Here are some fun facts about Golem that Trainers may not know!
Golem is a dual-type Rock/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Golem is a large, Golem-like Pokémon composed of boulders. It has orange rock formations on its head and back and a pair of blue crystal shards on its chest. It also has a pair of small arms with three clawed fingers each and stubby legs ending in two large claws each. Golem is angered by electricity, they will chase down the source and destroy it. Some Golem has been known to live in volcanic craters. Due to their temperamental natures, Golem is difficult to train. Golems are also very loyal to their trainers.
Golem may be based on the legendary creature golem as well as the mythological Cyclops. In addition, Golem’s anger at being struck by lightning may be a reference to the myth of Prometheus, who was bound to a rock and had an eagle eat his liver every day as punishment for stealing fire from the gods and giving it to humans. Its appearance also seems to be inspired by that of the Japanese monster Kappa, which is skilled at throwing stones. It evolves from Graveler when traded, or when exposed to a Linking Cord (Pokémon Legends: Arceus). It is the final form of Geodude.
