The state flower of Alabama, Kentucky, and Nebraska is the goldenrod.
There are 25 kinds of goldenrod in Indiana, including “Short’s Goldenrod,” one of the most endangered plants on the planet (Solidago shortii).
Thomas Edison used rubber from the Goldenrod facility to create the tires for his Model T Ford, which was a gift from his friend Henry Ford.
Solidago bicolor has a single white goldenrod.
Because they only appear on the Canadian Goldenrod, cluster galls serve as a species indication for that plant (Solidago canadensis).
