Froslass is introduced in Generation IV, Froslass is a dual-type Ghost/Ice Pokémon. Froslass is one of the few Ice-type Pokémon, along with Articuno, Walrein, and Abomasnow. Froslass evolves from a female Snorunt when exposed to a Dawn Stone.
Froslass is a white, ghostly Pokémon with a black body and red eyes. Froslass has long black hair with red bangs. Froslass has two small red horns on its head.
Froslass wears a red scarf around its neck. Froslass also has a red gem on its forehead. Froslass is said to be the spirit of female humans who were lost in snowy mountains.
Froslass can create blizzards by freezing the moisture in the air. Froslass can also freeze people and Pokémon solid with a glance from its cold red eyes. Froslass is also known to lure people and Pokémon into the mountains with its beauty and then freeze them solid.
Froslass is native to Sinnoh but can be found in Hoenn and Unova as well. Froslass is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon. Froslass is also known to abduct people and take them to the mountains, where they become lost forever.
Froslass is the only Pokémon with a double weakness to Fighting-type moves. Froslass appears to be based on the yuki-onna of Japanese folklore. It may also be based on a kimono or an obi sash, as Froslass’s “veil” resembles both garments. Froslass’s name is a combination of frost and lass.
