Forretress is a Steel/Bug-type Pokémon. Forretress is notable for being one of the heaviest Bug-type Pokémon. Forretress’s static ability allows it to paralyze foes that use contact moves on Forretress.
Forretress’s Hidden Ability is Overcoat, an ability that protects Forretress from damage from weather effects and powder moves. Forretress is most commonly found in forests. Forretress’s typing and access to Stealth Rock give it good defensive synergy with many Fire-type Pokémon, such as Charizard and Blastoise.
Forretress can also set up Spikes to support its teammates. Forretress is weak to Fire-, Flying-, and Fighting-type moves. Fire-types such as Talonflame can take advantage of Forretress’s weakness to Flying-type moves with their own STAB moves.
