Farfetch’d (Japanese: カモネギ Kamonegi) is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon. In Galar, Farfetch’d have a Fighting-type regional form. Galarian Farfetch’d evolved into Sirfetch’d after landing three critical hits in a single battle.
Farfetch’d is unique among all other Pokémon in that it is the only one whose evolution is determined by its location; Farfetch’d that are found in the Kanto region will evolve into Sir Farfetch’d, while those found in the Galar region will evolve into Galarian Farfetch’d. Farfetch’d is also one of only two Pokémon that has a different cry in each game it appears in, the other being Pikachu.
Farfetch’d is based on a duck or goose and its Japanese name, Dewgong, is a combination of “duck” and “gong”, the sound a duck makes. Farfetch’d is known for its love of leeks and will even fight over them with other Farfetch’d.
