Darkrai is a Dark-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is known as the “Pitch-Black Pokémon”. Darkrai is not known to evolve into or form any other Pokemon.
Darkrai is a dark-colored humanoid Pokémon with a small head and red eyes. Darkrai has long, black arms and legs with red stripes running down them. Darkrai’s most notable feature is the thin, red crescent moon on its forehead.
Darkrai also has two thin, red streamers flowing from its head. Darkrai stands at 4’11” and weighs 111.3 lbs. Darkrai is the only Pokémon that can learn the move Dark Void.
According to legend, Darkrai caused villages to erupt into screaming nightmares before calming them back down again. Darkrai is a very rare Pokémon and is said to bring nightmares to those who see it. Darkrai is also very efficient at causing nightmares, as shown in the anime when it caused Ash Ketchum to have nightmares every time he fell asleep.
However, in the anime, Darkrai seems to be able to cause nightmares even if the person is not asleep, as shown when it caused Meowth to have a nightmare while he was awake. Darkrai also has the ability to put people into eternal sleep with its Bad Dreams Ability.
It is unknown how Darkrai actually causes nightmares or eternal sleep. Darkrai is also known as the “Boogeyman of Sinnoh”.
