Claydol (Japanese: ネンドール Nendoll) is a dual-type Ground/Psychic Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It evolves from Baltoy starting at level 36. Claydol is a black, clay Golem Pokémon.
It has an ovoid body with a stubby torso and rectangular plates on its sides. It has two thin, red eyes set in deep sockets above a V-shaped mouth. On top of its head is a bulky, dome-shaped stone making up most of its upper body.
This stone has two thin, red eyespots and two small knobs. Claydol can spin its head like a drill and fly by spinning the stone on its head like a helicopter blade. Claydol can fire off blasts of psychic energy by using telekinesis to lift boulders and hurl them at opponents.
Claydol can be found near places where meteorites have fallen. If a Claydol is exposed to sunlight, it will go to sleep so that it doesn’t become too crispy. Claydol is one of the few Pokémon that can learn the move Earth Power.
Claydol can also learn Psybeam, which can confuse opponents, as well as Psychic, which is super effective against Fighting types. Claydol’s Psychic typing leaves it weak to Ghost and Dark-type moves.
