The horse-drawn chariot was something they learned from the Hyksos, with whom they fought many battles. To make them as agile as feasible, they were extremely lightweight constructions that were drawn by two horses. Initially, horses were not a part of the Egyptian army. As a result, they didn’t give a damn if the horses’ colors matched.

The chariots were mostly utilized by the Egyptian archers. As the chariot sped through the field toward the adversary, an archer would stand atop it and fire arrows. The chariot was not driven by him; a driver did that. Each chariot thus carried two passengers.
