Burmy is a unique Pokémon in that its form changes based on what it wrapped itself in. If Burmy wrapped itself in the grass, then it will be the Grass-type, if it wrapped itself in the sand, then it will be the Ground-type, if Burmy wrapped itself in the trash, then it will be the Steel-type. Burmy’s form also changes when it evolves into Mothim.

When Burmy evolves into Mothim, it will take on the form of what it had wrapped itself in the most when it was a Burmy. For example, if Burmy mostly wrapped itself in the grass when it was a Burmy, then when it evolves into Mothim, Mothim will be the Grass-type. However, if Burmy equally Wrap itself in all three things and then evolve into Mothim, then Mothim will be the Normal-type.

Burmys are also genderless Pokémon. Burmy is voiced by Yuko Sanpei in Japanese and by Amy Palant in English.
