Brachiosaurus was one of the largest species in the sauropod family, reaching a whopping 76 feet in length and 23 feet in height. Brachiosaurus weighed an incredible 88 tons, that’s about equal to 40 African elephants! Brachiosaurus has many special features. It had a long neck and small head similar to a giraffe, which helped Brachiosaurus reach for tall trees for food. Brachiosaurus likely walked on all fours but could have reared up on its hind legs from time to time as well.
Brachiosaurus ate mostly plants due to their large size and slow metabolism, but they also probably snacked on smaller 3-foot reptiles or insects when they could catch them.
