Aron is a dual-type Steel/Rock Pokémon introduced in Generation III. Aron is a small, quadruped Pokémon that seems to be based on an armadillo or a young dinosaur. Aron has a plated back and a steely blue underbelly.
Aron’s back is covered in four overlapping plates: two on the shoulder area, one on the back, and one on the tail. Aron has small red eyes, two short horns on its head, and two large claws on its feet. Aron is very weak when first born and cannot walk or stand on its own.
Aron is also very heavy for its size; despite being only 0.4 meters tall, Aron weighs 60 kilograms (130 pounds). Aron is usually found in mountains. Arona powder found on their bodies can deflect electric attacks.
Arona also has the ability to dig through solid rock at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour (6.2 miles per hour). Arona is able to keep digging even if it hits magma. When Arona senses danger, it curls into a ball to protect itself from attackers.
However, this ability also makes Arona unable to move until the danger has passed. Arona can evolve into Lairon once level 32 is reached. Then it evolves into Aggron at level 42. It can evolve into Mega Aggron using the Aggronite.
